Every Saturday for a couple of years, I stuffed a few pieces of paper into an envelope, securing my passage into the Brigantine Wilderness Area of Southern New Jersey. Immediately, I was transported into another world filled with savannahs, marshes, and fields and plains of flora, birds, and other wildlife. One is struck by the fragility and strength of nature. And so close to the edge of development and sprawl, it is a fitting reminder of how close we all are to the edge of existence.
